LIMITED EDITION SOLD OUT, STANDARD VERSION STILL AVILABLE
Pandemonium - A place of uproar and chaos, that's what it translates to and I guess you could say that about being near John Browne of Monuments whenever he picks the guitar up and starts shredding it.
John reached out to me looking for a booster/overdrive to help him push his sound even further and Pandemonium is the result of this.
As a former member and co-founder of the band Vildhjarta I'm pretty familiar with the metallic sound associated with progressive metal that artists in the genre are looking for and John is no exception.
Basically you want to be able to boost your base signal as much as you can and keep it relatively low gain and that's where many people fails dialing to much gain in.
The Pandemonium pedal is one step in the right direction for that matter, it would be a lie saying it's a "metal-in-one-box" pedal cause that's not what the sound of progressive metal really is.
Although as a tool to help you get there as it has a potential of the massive boost of 30+db (Clarity knob), this makes crisp palm muted riffing an easy task.
On top of that you have the Attack/Defense switch which let you choose between the two settings. Attack will give you a boost to the bottom-end, more gain at hand of the Chaos knob and a slight boost in the mids section.
Defence setting will give you more of a straight up cleanboost without colouring your tone.
Hue knob plays only with the highs and will at a 12 o'clock position be pretty much neutral and true to your basic tone, turn it up and you have a more cutting and open sound.
The notable thing about this booster/overdrive is the fact it's using mosfets for clipping unlike pedals such as the Tubescreamer which uses silicon diodes for clipping. Silicon diodes will give you a more compressed and unnatural type of sound where mosfets will preserve your tone and sound more open and realistic.
Stacked opamps is another feature, this means there is two opamps on top of each other which have been carefully picked and blended to give you extra crisp and punch.
Another cool feature is that I have made a built in voltage doubler, what this means is that you plug a 9V DC in and bam, the pedal runs at 18V DC to allow for more headroom and clearness, plug 12V DC and you have 24V DC feeding it.
I would not recommend going any further then plugging a 12V supply into it.
See this as a pre-order and keep in mind to allow 4-6 weeks for delivery as each and every pedal is handcrafted.
